The Salomon Arctic S3 Ski Poles looks familiar enough, with an Alu shaft alloyed with magnesium and silicone for improved strength with less weight and a bi-material S3 Grip that combines soft and hard textures to give you a blend of support and cushion for the ideal grip. But what sets it apart is the S3 system built into the strap, designed to help you keep a hold of your poles under normal conditions but capable of releasing should your pole get stuck while you're heading downhill or unloading the lift.
