Rocker/Camber Hybrid: Uses rocker in certain zones of the ski, typically the tip, tail, or both. Great, versatile choice, offering good grip on hardpack, some float in soft snow, and easy turn initiation and transitions.

80-89: Good float in powder; typically still carve pretty well

Style: RADED02

When we demo skis each season, the Rossignol Experience 88 Skis are always some of the most popular. These skis are fast, fun, and easy to control, even when skiing fast. Quick carving is easy thanks to Auto Turn Rocker's blend of camber and rocker. The extended sidecut shape provides rock-solid stability and loads of power when the ski is on edge. Thanks to the rockered tip and versatile 88 waist width, you can hit the groomed runs, the trees, and even venture off into the side country on the Experience 88's.

Q:
"I am 6'1" 220lb 48yo and currently just snowboard. I was an inter/adv skier before going to snowboarding. Looking for a ski to cruise mostly on piste when off piste is tracked out for boarding and piste is bumped up. What length would you recommend in Experience 88? Any other ski recommendation?"

A:
"We would recommend a ski around 180 for you. These skis may be a bit faster than what you are looking for. I would recommend that you would check out the Rossignol Experience 84 Skis as another option."

Q:
"Is the Experience 88 the best ski for me? I am 5' 10" and 150 pounds. I am 47 years old. I would consider myself an expert skier, but I've mainly been snowboarding during the last 10 years. I'd like to start skiing again. In high-school and college, I competed in freestyle skiing (moguls and aerials). I am still drawn to the terrain park, but I really wouldn't spend much time in it. I prefer shorter turns, but I also like cruising all sorts of terrain. I am a non-linear skier; I like to explore all parts of the mountain and look for unique natural features to ski or jump from (but nothing over 5 feet). I guess I would consider myself a free-ride, all-mountain skier. In reality, I probably ski groomed runs 90% of the time. I mainly ski in Minnesota (short runs, man-made snow, not powder), but I also ski in Colorado or Utah only a few days per year. When I ski in Colorado and Utah, I like to explore off-piste runs, but it probably takes up only 25% of my time when I'm there. I like to ski moguls, but there aren't many moguls in the Minnesota area, so I actually really don't need a ski that's well suited for moguls. "

Q:
"How does the Experience 88 compare too the Blizzard Brahma in the 180 length?"

Question by skilover22 on 1/29/2016 - 10:28 pm
A:
"These two skis are extremely similar and should perform as such, but the Brahma has a little more float and the Experience 88 will be a little more forgiving."

Q:
"I am 5'10" 150lb expert skier. Looking for something that is pretty quick edge to edge on piste, reasonable in the bumps and can float some in light powder/trees. This ski looks like the ticket. Would the 180cm be a better bet for me than the 172cm? Thanks!"

Question by Greg on 6/1/2016 - 12:38 am
A:
"The 180 is great if you want a more versatile ski! However, for edge to edge performance, I would recommend the 172cm as it will be a bit more nimble. The 172's that we have available are: the Blizzard Magnum 8.0 TI Skis (Men's) and the Volkl RTM UVO 84 Ski System with Bindings (Men's)."

Q:
"I am on the edge here. Skiing Apache Recon 174. I weigh 175 lbs at 5'9. Generally ski hard pack and like to push it with some speed. The 88's- which size is most appropriate for me?"
