I started running in Nov 2014, for the first time in my life. I was on a new healthy lifestyle quest. I still am. I bought a pair of running shoes of another brand, and I loved them. However, because of my knee issues, I kept looking for something with more cushioning. An avid runner friend suggested I explore the HOKA line. After some research, I settled on a pair of Constants in 2015. I haven't looked back since then. I love the way the RMAT base moulds and conforms to ones gait/running style. The cushioning was the best experience I'd had. I was due for a new pair, so I decided to try the Constant 2. Glad I did. Same awesome running experience. The wide toe box is an essential requirement for me. Broke them in with a 6 mile run this past weekend, and will be running my first half marathon (RNR_NOLA) this coming weekend. Looking forward to it. It's a great show for MY running style.

Great stuff underfoot. Acts stable, eats up impact, performs exactly as advertised.

The non-tongue upper is very, very dumb. It's the essence of "getting too cute." Asics and Saucony experimented with uppers like that... in the early 90's (see Gel Lyte III or Grid 9000), and there's a reason that "technology" was left behind more than 20 years ago.

It's a fine shoe, and I'll put miles on it and run through it, but I know that it will never feel comfortable on the top of my foot. Would not buy again.

Comments about Hoka One One Constant 2 Running Shoe Men's, Grey/Directoire Blue, 9.5:

These are my go-to shoes. I have to have wide toe boxes and this is the only Hoka that meets that except the Bondi wide, which are a little too wide. These Constants fit my feet like a glove. Unfortunately, they wear out really fast. Two months, max. That gets expensive for a year.
I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes are perfect for recovery with my orthodics.
Thank you, Hoka for making these wider than normal models.

Comments about Hoka One One Constant 2 Running Shoe Men's, Grey/Directoire Blue, 9.5:

I am a 56 year old male and I run 8-10 miles per week. I have extreme over pronation and require a very stable shoe with great inside support. From my first few strides with my new Constant 2's I was amazed at the comfort, ease of stride and support. I went 4 miles my first run and never got sore feet. I've ran several more times, the longest 5 miles and am still very impressed. If you need a great running shoe with very good performance characteristics and extreme pronation control, this is the shoe for you. Now if only I could find a golf shoe with the same pronation control.

I am now on my 6th pair of Constants and I love this shoe. I consistently get 400+ miles out of each pair. They are extremely comfortable especially in the forefoot where many shoes are too narrow for me. I love the wrap style tongue as it keeps the tongue from sliding around and twisting while running. I run everything from 3 mile to 26 mile run distances in them without any problem. Although they are slightly heavier than some of the other shoes, the stability and comfort are worth it. These are my workhorse Hoka's.

        This is a great shoe!!
Comfort and good for the body!! I have a real bad pronation. but these are great for helping. been a boot guy a long time. but these lightweights are taking me by surprise did not think they would be so comfortable. they did wear to fast in my opinion. but I am 210 pounds and again have a heavy pronation. HOKA TOOK CARE OF ME ON THEM WEARING OUT. due to this they get 5 stars. they were polite, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I have worked in dealerships for almost 10 years. nothing is better than taking care of a customer. and they did EXCELLENT 100 % satisfied.

Very comfortable shoe. The shoe runs 1/2 size bigger than my normal show size. My left heal slips a little because of this. Wish I would have known that when I ordered them on line.

I have an issue with pronation of both feet, normally I wear shoes with custom fabricated orthotics. I purchased these based on other reviewers and have not regretted the choice. I have used them on roads and the treadmill everyday for 3 weeks now without my orthotics and have felt no discomfort. The cushioning of the sole is amazing and there's very little feeling of impact when running.

Comments about Hoka One One Constant 2 Running Shoe Men's, Grey/Directoire Blue, 9.5:

I purchased my first pair of Constants last year. I replaced them with the Constant2. The insole was changed in the Constant2. Now the same size shoe in the same model does not feel good. It's a shame because I loved the Constant. Hoka makes a great product but needs to make sure they don't lose customers with their growth.

                      Based on 4 x 5km runs:

Pro: Great cushioning, no longer get knee pains!

Con: Area right above big toe needs reinforcement, I see this area wearing out first.

Size info: ordered 11.5, I wear an 11.5 for the Metcon1

Comments about Hoka One One Constant 2 Running Shoe Men's, Grey/Directoire Blue, 9.5:

I've been running for 39 years. The longest period of time I missed running, at one period of time, was about three weeks straight due to an accident. These shoes fit my needs perfectly for where I'm at today at my age, mid 50's. I was experiencing knee and back pain and could not find a running shoe that would alleviate. My pains are almost gone after running in these shoes so far. The width is perfect. I usually buy 2E for comfort, no need to with these. I run between 7 and 10 miles daily. I have not found any faults so far.

Comments about Hoka One One Constant 2 Running Shoe Men's, Grey/Directoire Blue, 9.5:

I became a Hoka fan with the Conquest. My next pair was the Clifton 2 and I was very disappointed. The forefoot was too narrow and caused toe issues, something I had never experienced before. The description of the Constant 2 described an ample forefoot area (a response to Clifton complaints?), so I took the chance. The Constant 2 is as advertised. It is a more substantial feeling shoe -probably due to its stability features - with plenty of room in the toebox. With only a few runs in these shoes, I am happy with them and glad I didn't give up on Hoka after the Clifton 2 disappointment.

I am a walker. These are the best shoes ever. I wore MBTs for the last decade. Eventually my knees and hips started to hurt. I don't even remember how I found Hokas but since I started wearing these to pain has disappeared. I chose these because on other reviews of many shoes were criticized for being narrow. My feet aren't narrow or wide but I thought these would be a safe bet to try, knowing I had 30 days to return them. After one day I threw out the packaging and return materials. I'm hooked, or should I say Hookaed? I wish there was a pure gray model since I walk in an urban environment, but that's a minor complaint.

Awesome. Wore the first version 600+ miles. V2 has improved with overlays in the right places. Toe box is awesome for toe splay, The mix of RMAT and EVA is firm, yet plush. Very effective in reducing my pronation which I have in all the other Hoka models. How I wish there was an ATR version with some small lugs so I can take these to the mountains. Why doesn't the Marfate have this midsole combination? Would reduce the weight, increase the flex and be more in line with the "peoples favorite" from yesteryear.
