The Fischer Ranger 120 Ski Boot is designed from the sole up to be the ultimate backcountry boot. Seriously, the rubberized soles are designed to give you enhanced traction on slippery surfaces and provide impact and vibration absorption when you're riding too. That doesn't mean that's all they're good at though, the Hike/Ride/Lock mechanism adds versatility you won't find anywhere else. The Hike and Lock modes operate just like it does in other ski boots, with Hike mode offering increased flexibility for climbing and Lock mode fixing the cuff in place for downhill performance. But the Ride mode, which ensures fixed response when leaning back in the boot, keeps forward lean free for improved performance when riding powder.
