"is the hood detachable and is there a waterproof liner or just that the shell is waterproof?"

"The hood can be zipped off, the shell has 20K waterproof rating. The liner is usually made of very soft material to be comfortable and will be breathable and moisture wicking taking the sweat away form the skin but would not be called waterproof."

"Is there a back storage pocket on this jacket? Thanks!"

Best ski jacket i have ever owned

This Descente ski jacket is undoubtedly the best ski jacket i have ever owned. It is incredibly waterproof, warm, and has virtually every feature you could ask for in a ski jacket: appropriate pockets on the outside of the jacket, including a sleeve pocket, goggle net inside, powder skirt, technology pocket and another breast pocket on the opposite side, back storage pocket, and drawstrings. The hood fits over a helmet, and while I originally thought the small ''windows'' in the hood were superfluous, i found that they were indeed useful looking uphill. As the 20k waterproof and breathability ratings attest, this is a remarkably comfortable jacket in virtually all conditions. I skied at -17 F (i know...really cold), and while my boot heaters could not keep up, this jacket, combined with a patagonia vest, were more than enough to handle the temperatures.
