This is a popular question. Size XS is not on the size chart, but would be comparable to a size 6 (generally 6 yr olds wear a size 6....or an XS in this particular pant).

My daughter runs quite slim and is just now starting to need a 10. It sounds like that is a medium instead of a large? Can you say how these fit in terms of regular or slim?

The size medium measures 13" in the waist of the pant from side to side. The widest part of the pant measures 10" across in the leg. I would say they are a regular fit as opposed to slim.

The XL has an inseam of 29" and a waist of 30" so if that's what you need then it will fit perfectly!
