This is a 3-in-1 component jacket so the removable liner jacket acts as the insulation. This is definitely appropriate for skiing and is especially nice if you ski throughout the season in different conditions. You can customize the level of warmth and protection depending on the conditions.

Does this jacket have a snow skirt? Also, are there draw strings along the bottom hem?

This is a system jacket so it only has the draw string but not the snow skirt and no thumb holes.
