    Q:
"I've never seen snow before and heading to Europe in December. Would these pants be too hot/heavy for a European winter? What should i look for in a pair of pants? Planning to do a bit of snowboarding and seeing the arctic circle. Thanks"

    A:
"You should be looking for good insulation (at least 60g), a good level of breathability, and fully taped seams. These pants have all of those things. The breathability rating is 10K for these pants which is a good amount. It refers to the amount of moisture that is able to be released when you are participating in a heat producing activity. When you are more active (i.e. snowboarding or hiking) you will sweat. If the moisture is not release, it will cling to your pants making you very cold. This fabric allows for the moisture to be released without allowing any cold air in (thanks to the fully taped seams). I would also recommend checking out the 686 Smarty Original Cargo 3-in-1 Snowboard Pant and the Rip Curl Sano Insulated Snowboard Pant. Have fun on your trip!"
