Q:
"Hi; I'm looking at the Spyder Rival and Sentinel jackets. Both are listed as 29" in length, but the Rival sleeves, in the pictures, look like they extend farther down past the hem, therefore it seems as though that jacket is actually shorter than the SEntinel. Can you please confirm that they are both the same length? Many thanks..."

"I was looking at both the spyder leader and the spyder rival which do you think is better and what are the differences?"

A:
"They are both great jackets! They offer the same waterproofing and insulation and are made of the same material. The difference is mainly the style also the Spyder Rival does not have a removable powder skirt or the stretch inner cuffs with thumb holes to keep snow out"

Q:
"Hi, I'm looking at the Spyder Rival Insulated Ski Jacket, and I'm 5'8'' tall, 150 pound, which size should I choose, M size or S size? Another question, what does "Centerback" mean? Many thanks!"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by WH on 1/31/2012 - 8:35 am
A:
"We really need your chest measurements in order to help determine which size you should get. The chest measurement on a size small is 37-39". On a size medium, the chest measurement is 40 - 42". The centerback measurement is the length of the jacket at the back, from the neckline down to the bottom hem."

Q:
"Are the sizes of Spyder ski jackets the same in Israel?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by on 2/15/2012 - 3:51 pm
A:
"I believe Israel uses European sizes. If this is the case then the easiest way to convert from the US to EU (for Men sizing only) is to add 10. For example a size 30 US is equal to a size 40 EU, a size 32 US is equal to a size 42 EU and so on. "

Q:
"What is the weight of the Rival jacket in comparison to the Cosmos and Esper which have lighter weight insulation? Is there a noticeable difference in the warmth between this jacket and the others? Thank you"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by richard on 6/26/2012 - 8:13 am
A:
"The Rival jacket is going to have a considerable amount more than the others and will most definitely be the warmest of the three. This jacket has 100g of insulation while the others have 60g. "

Q:
"I'm 5'11" 178 lbs. and have a 34" waist. Will the medium jacket be snug or should I size up to a large?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by JJ on 9/27/2012 - 2:19 pm
A:
"I would go to a large, so that it will not be snug, when you are layering, and have more free moment in the jacket. "
Answer by Jaime (Peter Glenn Staff) on 9/27/2012 - 3:51 pm
Q:
"why is the jacket only rated 4/10 on the "warm" scale when it has 80g+ of insulation? What would make the jacket warmer?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Adam on 10/8/2012 - 5:57 pm
A:
"This jacket was rated incorrectly. I have adjusted it so now it is where it should be. This is a mid to upper warmth rated jacket. You could make it warmer by layering with a mid-weight sweater such as the Spyder Outbound 1/2-Zip Core Sweater!"

The jacket is very functional, and looks great. Warm insulated jacket and fits well. I am 6'-0" tall, 210 pounds, fairly athletic build, and the size large fits perfect.

Very warm and comfortable. Needs more pockets, and a weatherproof iPod compartment. I may have chosen the Leader jacket for the small difference. PeterGlenn is a very good company to deal with.

Love this Jacket   Rated: 5/5

Best Jacket I've ever owned. Fits great, super warm, and very functional. As for sizing I've learned to go bigger with Spyder. I'm 6'0, 195 and wear a size 44 in a coat, so I went with the XL and it fits great.
