Q:
"What is the difference between this one($249.95) and the other Spyder Prevail ($129.99)? Also, will it have pockets to keep my hands warm on the lift?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by grace on 9/12/2011 - 4:19 pm
A:
"The Prevail jacket at the lower price is last seasons model(2010/2011). This one is the new season(2011/2012). The pocket in the jacket has a very thin fleece lining. It is not enough to keep your hands warm for longer periods of time. I would recommend wearing the Grandoe Emily Glove so that you can have more flexibility when using your fingers and stay warm!"

Q:
"WHICH JACKET IS WARMER THE VOLT OR PREVAIL?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Hugo Montoya on 9/19/2011 - 5:44 pm
A:
"The Sypder Prevail jacket is going to be warmer. It has 140g body / 100g sleeve ThermaWeb™ insulation as opposed to the Sypder Volt jacket that has 100g body / 60g sleeve Primaloft® Sport insulation. "

Q:
"Does the Prevail have the same fit as the Project and Tresh? I take it the Prevail is a warmer jacket?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Emma Kent. on 9/20/2011 - 11:28 am
A:
"You are correct. All three jackets have the same fit to them. They are all fitted to hug a woman's figure. The Spyder Prevail is the warmest of them all with 140g body / 100g sleeve ThermaWeb™ insulation. However, Spyder Project has a higher waterproofing and breathability rating so you would be able to withstand colder temperatures for a longer period of time without becoming uncomfortable. You would just need to layer a bit more to bring the warmth up to the Prevail's level."

Q:
"Really I will buy this jacket but can you tell me if the insulation is PrimaLoft or it is different and which is the best? Also can you recommend the most warmer underwear pants and shirt? I live in Argentina, can you send me it or do I have to give you a USA address? thank you grace"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by graciela fraguglia on 9/21/2011 - 10:24 pm
A:
"This jacket contains ThermaWeb™ insulation. ThermaWeb™ was created by Spyder and contains ultra-fine polyester fibers that trap and hold body heat. I would also recommend looking at the SmartWool Lightweight Thermal Bottom and the SmartWool Lightweight Zip Thermal Top! We are only able to ship certain vendors outside the U.S., and Spyder is not one of them. We would have to ship this item within the USA."

Q:
"Hi, They look like a tailored fit. Should I go up a size (I normally wear a 6) will this then allow me to layer up underneath or is there enough room if I choose the size 6. "

Question by Heidi on 10/23/2011 - 11:46 pm
A:
"If you know that you want to layer we definitely suggest going up a size as this is a tailored fit. "

Q:
"Hi. I'm deciding between the Spyder Amp and the Spyder Prevail, both in green. Can you tell me if they are comparable, and also which one is a deeper shade of green? Also I'm 5'6", about 132 lbs - do you think size 8 would fit? "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Sharon on 3/27/2012 - 11:09 am
A:
"Both of these jackets have the same amount of warmth and waterproofing. The basic style change is going to be the main difference. The Prevail will have a darker shade of green. Be sure to match up your body measurements with the Sizing Chart Spyder provides for the perfect fit."

Q:
"How does the Prevail compare to the Breaker and Aphrodite from Spyder? "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Joanne on 10/24/2012 - 11:55 pm
A:
"The Spyder Breaker has a higher waterproof/breathable rating. It also has Primaloft insulation which is a lower profile insulation (so you need less of it to stay just as warm). The Breaker is also fully taped and has interior stretch cuffs with thumbholes. While the Prevail is a great jacket, it does not have any of these technical features which is why the prices are different. We do not carry Aphrodite."

Q:
"I want to order the coat in white, but is it machine washable?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Sophie on 11/6/2012 - 5:45 pm
A:
"It definitely is! Washing it will restore the waterproofing and breathability of your jacket so don't be afraid to put it in the washing machine!"

Great fit, warm and cute to boot!    Rated: 5/5

I just returned from a trip to Santa Fe, NM where they had unusually cold temps and snow. This jacket was perfect for 25-30 degree skiing with a thermal base layer and fleece beneath it. It has just the right amount of pockets for storing items. The stretchy, non bulky materials used were great as they did not restrict movement at all. Great upgrade from my old Columbia stay puff marshmallow jacket. I also received several compliments on how cute it was!

On the fit - I wear a 6 or 8 depending on the cut. I purchased an 8 in this jacket which was perfect. I would say err on the larger end of your size range as it is a very fitted jacket.
