"my daughter is 6 (turns 7 next march) and is 40 lbs. will a size 7 be too large for her? I don't want to buy a 6 and have her only get one year out of it but want her to be warm and if the suit is too big it may not keep her warm?"

"By following the sizing chart, just by her weight, she is a size 4. It is hard to make a suggestion unless I know her other measurements (waist, arm length, chest, ect). The great thing about Obermeyer, is that it has the igrow system where the cuffs extend by 1 1/2 inches to accommodate growth spurts. So, you do not have to worry about the little ones outgrowing the jacket too fast. If the jacket is too loose, it will not be able to hold as much body heat. "

"If you look at the sizing chart under the Toddler chart, it will give you all the specs and you can see where your toddler fits based off of her measurements. Keep in mind that these jackets do have the ability to extend in the sleeves, so you can get another season out of it. For example, my 2 1/2 year old, at 26 lbs, would definitely be in the size 2 this winter and with the sleeves extended, probably next winter as well. Hope that helps!"

"Is the fur on hood removable or just the whole hood? "

Question by Brandy on 6/27/2013 - 2:37 pm
"Yes, someone previously asked this question and we noted that it is removable. The hood is removable from the jacket and the fur is removable from the hood."

"My daughter is just under 2 years of age, is 31" tall, with about a 20" waist. I looked at the size chart, but just wanted to know if the 2T in this jacket (based on fit, cut, room for layering, etc.) would work for her? This will be her first winter not wearing her warm down-filled baby buntings, and I'm trying to get an idea of the fit of this jacket. I've heard great things about the Spyder brand, but have never bought it before, and thought this might be a good jacket to start with? "

"If you looked at the size chart and it appears that a size 2 would fit her, then that is the size that you should get. This does have the Room to Grow feature, so she will most likely be able to wear it next winter as well. If you get the size 2 and feel that there is not going to be enough room for all of the layering that you want to do, you can always return it and exchange for the size 3."
