"Just a question about the flex rating. I've seen other places that the general consensus is these boots are actually a lower than advertised flex (some say as low as 80) I've also seen people say that flex ratings can be very skewed. This is my first boot purchase so I'm a bit confused. I'm an advanced-intermediate skier (extremely comfortable on the hardest intermediates and good on easier diamonds) I'm just wondering if these boots will be too "stiff" for my skill level or if they are a good choice. Thanks much!"

"There is no industry standard on measuring flex when it comes to ski boots. For this particular pair, its the stiffest pair of boots Solomon makes for all-mountain terrain. Compared to other brands, the flex rating cannot be compared to another as an 80. This doesn't mean that it's skewed. It just means that the one particular brand has a different method and rating their flex or stiffness on a boot than another one. Also the affect of stiffness will be more pronounced on a lighter skier as well. "

"I've got exactly the same skill level but I think 120 is way to stiff for that, unless you're over 200 pounds or so. As for myself I went with 2013 Nordica Transfire R2 and I love every minute of it ."
