I have another pair of boots by Remonte Dorndorf that I use as paddock boots when working at a nearby horse farm. They've withstood manure, ice, slush, rain, and temperatures of -25C. I've no doubt that this new pair will prove to be just as outstanding. I tested these the day after they arrived; I went hiking and got myself ankle-deep in a creekbed. Not only did my feet stay dry, they were kept warm by the wool insulation as well. Great craftsmanship, wonderful style. Just wish the shipping to Canada wasn't so expensive!
These boots are terrific! I was in an unusual situation because I live in Florida, but was traveling to a ski resort in Canada. I was hoping to find something that would be warm and functional there, but might get some use at other times. I was also challenged because very few local stores even carry boots, so I must have ordered and returned 25 different pairs before I found these. They are very warm (the wool lining is much more plush than you would expect looking at the outside) and they are definitely waterproof (I was ankle deep in more than a few slush puddles, and my feet stayed dry). They also look very cool, and not super huge and clunky, like so many boots out there. I got several compliments on the boots when I was at the resort, and a couple of people who live up there wanted to know where they could get them. We also had a cold-ish day back home in Florida (low 50's), and I wore them with jeans and a long-sleeve t, and they looked cute and felt good. So I'd say I found what I was looking for.
