I want to make sure this jacket will fit my son for 2 years. He currently wears Medium shirts (looser fit) and weighs 46 lbs. I see it only goes to size 8 which, upon checking the Obermayer site, appears to be for 56 lbs. Is that the maximum?

56 pounds is the maximum weight for this jacket. It is for a toddler boy which should be up to the age of 8.
