The center back length on a size 12 is going to be 25" long.

I have seen the measurements. A size 12 is for a woman with 41 inch hips. Is jacket designed to be snug on hips or a relaxed fit? I don't like anything tight. Would there be a jacket you would recommend by Obermeyer if not this one?

This jacket is supposed to fit snug, but not tight. If you have looked at the measurements on the Size Chart and a size 12 is what is suggested, you could always size up to the 14 if you don't want it to be too snug.
