"Their features are pretty much the same. They have the same waterproofing, breathability, and insulation. They will keep you warm and protect you from the weather in the same way. It would be up to you to choose which one you like best. The Nicole is a little bit longer than the Josie so it gives you more coverage. "

    Q:
"Could you explain the warmth of a 5000 mm coat? We are new to purchasing ski jackets, and I want to make sure that my daughter is warm. We really like this jacket. We looked at a similar one in person and it felt so thin. Can this coat be warm even though it is so thin? Thanks for your help!"
    1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Nicole on 11/21/2012 - 10:16 pm
    A:
"The 5000 mm is the rating of breathabilty and waterproofness of a jacket. For warmth, you want to look at the insulation. depending on the insulation type and the amount, will dictate how much warmth a jacket will be able to hold in. With the new synthetic insulation types, you do not to have a bulky jacket to keep you warm. Also, with good layering, the jacket doesn't need to be insulated as much, to keep in the warmth. You want to consider the fact that, when skiing, you will be getting warmer from the physical activity, and you do not want to over heat yourself. Staying dry is very important. Once you get wet, no matter how thick or warm the jacket is, you will be cold and miserable. "

I love this jacket. It keeps you warm without being bulky. The colors are nice. It's full of pockets. I love how you put your thumb through a hole and when you put gloves on, snow can't get in. Ventilation zippers are nice when you're moving around outside and start geing hot. The material is also quite nice and it doesn't feel like you have a jacket on.
