"If I buy the 8 in petite, would it be like a 6 regular?"

Question by Liz on 12/26/2013 - 8:20 pm
"If you are a 6 regular you would have to stay with that size. Petite runs smaller and shorter than regular sizes. "

"I am a novice skier and am headed to Park City Utah in a month. Would this jacket be an appropriate choice as far as warmth and waterproofing? Thanks!"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Tammy on 1/15/2014 - 2:42 pm
"Absolutely! As you can see, we have given this jacket a 10/10 rating on warmth, so you really can't get warmer than that! And the jacket is waterproof as well with 10K waterproof rating so you are fully protected in this jacket. "

"I am a petite size (4'11), I fit the 2P requirements except i am bustier (33), i am afraid 2P will too tight with zip-on and not sure if it will be comfy in motion...but if i get the 4P, will it look baggy on me given my short built? Appreciate your professional advice...thanks"

Question by Emily on 1/14/2014 - 11:12 pm
"There is not a huge difference from a size 2 to a 4. This jacket also fits slim. A 4 should still fit you nicely."
Answer by Katie (Peter Glenn Staff) on 1/15/2014 - 11:30 am
"Hi, I'd like the jacket to fit without being roomy - should I go one size down with this model? I often heard that Obermeyer jackets run big. I'm a perfect 8 size as per their size chart - 35.4' chest, 27' waist and 36' hips. Should I go one size down with this to have a fitted silouette or it's not necessary? Thanks!!"

Question by Irina on 2/6/2014 - 12:48 am
"This jacket is very slim fitting. You should stay with a size 8. "

"Fiber down or goose down?"

Question by cheryl on 2/14/2014 - 10:48 am
"This is a Fiber Down insulated jacket. It's a lot like down in terms of structure, but made with a synthetic fiber."

"Is the hood big enough to fit over a ski helmet, and will it stay on while skiing?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by EFG on 3/1/2014 - 4:09 pm
"Yes! The hood for this jacket is helmet compatible. You can adjust the hood so that you can use it with your helmet, and when you do not need the hood to be used with your helmet, you can snap it back!"
Answer by Katie (Peter Glenn Staff) on 3/3/2014 - 2:39 pm
"I am thinking about getting this jacket for my mother in petite. She is 5ft 2"; her measurements are 38c bust, 33 inch waist and 40 inch hips so she has a little weight around her middle and bottom but is otherwise slim. Do you think this jacket would work for her and if so what size? Many thanks"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Trifides on 3/3/2014 - 11:41 am
"The waist is going to be the most important measurement for her, so you would want to get her a size 14. This will be a little looser through the chest, but should fit through the body. "
Answer by Katie (Peter Glenn Staff) on 3/3/2014 - 3:13 pm

"Is this jacket slim in the sleeves? Wondering if it will be too tight with a polarfleece layer beneath. "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Natalie on 4/17/2014 - 8:21 am
"You will be able to fit a baselayer and a mid-layer beneath this jacket. The body fit is slim, however, they do account for layering when sizing the piece."

"I wear a size 2 in this coat, but you no longer have it available in the color that I want. Would a size 4P work for me?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by jem on 8/26/2014 - 5:55 pm
"The 4P will be 1.5" larger in the chest and waist and 1.5" shorter in the length. I would recommend measuring your current jacket to see what would work for you. "
Answer by Sarah (Peter Glenn Staff) on 8/27/2014 - 9:33 am
"Hello, I'm 5' 9 180 lbs , I wear a 12 or 14 depending on make. I have a long torso and arms. Does this run small or large? Does it cover the butt at all? Thanks"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Allie on 8/29/2014 - 7:47 pm
"This coat is a slimmer fit so if you like that kind of fit then I would recommend your normal size. If not, I would recommend sizing up. It is a little bit longer in the back so it does come down just a little bit, however, it does not provide much coverage in the back."

Great jacket!   Rated: 4/5

I really like this Obermeyer ski jacket. The color is awesome. I wore it for the first time skiing last weekend and it was great. I live in the Cascade Mtns. in Oregon, so the snow is wet and heavy. It usually melts when hitting your body so many times I'm soaked by noon. Not last weekend. At the end of the day, the outside of the jacket was wet, but the inside was cozy and dry. I like all the pockets and the hood that fits over my helmet for those long cold rides on the chair lift. The best part is that I was able to order a petite. I hate it when mid-thigh length coats cut into my thighs while skiing and on the chair lift! This allows me to bend my legs in comfort. The only things missing is a powder shirt and thumb-hole on the wrist gaiter. I did get snow up my back and down my wrists upon wiping out.

Absolutely gorgeous and functional ski jacket   Rated: 5/5

This ski jacket is true to size, has plenty of pockets and is nice and toasty warm. In addition, it's gorgeous. The purple color is more of a cross between hot pink and purple. I have gotten so many compliments on it. You will not need bulky baselayers with this jacket, so buy it to fit. Go by the Obermeyer guide on this website. I'm 5'5", a 34 DD, but slim in the arms and torso. The size 8 is perfect. I am truly excited to wear this ski jacket every time I go skiing.

Best petite ski jacket!!!!   Rated: 5/5

I have been searching for a petite ski jacket for a long time (I am barely 5'1'' and curvy.) Regular jackets are always cut too long and the narrow waist ends up being around my hips - not a good look. I found this jacket online and I LOVE IT!!! First - great functionality - Warmth, waterproof, hood fits over helmet, loads of pockets. Second - I think it looks great. Great color (purple), clean lines, and the pockets don't look bulky. Third - very comfortable.
I bought a 10 petite after trying on my friend's 8 regular obemeyer. Her size 8 (different style) fit (with the waist/hip caveat) so I was planning to order an 8 petite, but then I saw that this was a slim cut so I sized up. It fits perfectly and I have room underneath for a mid layer.
Thank you, Obermeyer, for making something great for us short ladies!!!!
