The Obermeyer Kestral Insulated Ski Jacket makes skiing in harsh conditions easy. This jacket is highly waterproof and very easy to move in. Obermeyer used Thinsulate insulation because it provides warmth, but it's also very low-profile and light. When you combine Thinsulate with stretch exterior fabric, you get a jacket that's very easy to bend, stretch, jump, and climb in. The Obermeyer Kestral is also packed with features like pockets, a powderskirt, helmet-compatible hood, and ventilation.

Q:
"Is the Kestral jacket longer and more insulated than the Whistler jacket?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Jeff on 8/27/2013 - 11:27 am
A:
"The two jackets are about the same length. The Kestral is .5" longer. The insulations vary slightly between the two. The Whistler had 20g more insulation but it was not as warm as the Thinsulate that is being used in this jacket. Overall, I'd say they are both very similar in style and warmth, the main difference between the two is that the Kestral is much more waterproof/breathable. That will allow you to stay out on the mountain longer and keep you better protected. "
