On a size XS, the centerback measures 24" and chest is 17".

According to the Sizing Chart a size medium is for a chest measurement of 37-39" and a large is a chest measurement of 41-43".

Long in the body

I got this fleece to layer under my jacket. It will definitely do the trick. It's a little long in the body. Actually would show from under the jacket; I may hem it... but it does match my jacket! I might size down if I were you, I was worried it would be too tight, but given the length, I'd try one size smaller next time. Very soft, comfortable fleece!
