The North Face RDT 1/2-Zip Fleece makes an excellent option for athletic guys. This fleece is made with FlashDry, so it breathes better and dries faster than traditional styles. The seams on the shoulders are moved forward so you won't get pressure points when carrying a pack. There's also abrasion-resistant fabric at the back of your neck so the collar of your coat won't tear up your fleece.

Love this. Keeps you nice and warm without being too heavy. As a mid-layer it is perfect. I think it's quite stylish too.
