The North Face Kannon Mid-Layer Top is designed to provide strategic ventilation. The back panel is most breathable because this is where sweat tends to build up. There's also ventilation through the core to keep you dry there too. The entire Kannon Top uses FlashDry technology to enhance overall breathability and speed drying time. All of these things combine to keep you much drier (and therefore warmer) while you ski.
