"I am interested in your Nordica Cruise ski boots as I have a wide calf. Up to what size calf does it fit?"

Question by Traci on 2/2/2011 - 9:03 pm
"Nordica doesn't list specific calf size because it is tough to know where they will hit on each different person. These are high-volume women-specific boots though, so they are going to be very accommodating in terms of the most forgiving fit. Remember we offer free returns on ski boots, so it doesn't hurt to try them on! "

"We just ordered Nordica Hot Rod 70 ski boots for our 14 year old daughter who used a mondo 25 Nordica EM Olympia 10 but when we got the Hot Rod's the mondo 25 was too small. She said her big toe was smooshed. If I were to order these in a mondo 25 would they fit like the Nordica EM Olympia 10's or should I order a 26.5 assuming they would fit really tight like the Hot Rod's and give her some growing room over the next couple of years?"

"Ski boots do have to have a perfect fit in order for safely and comfort of the skier. It is very common for "toes to feel smooshed" when trying on a boot and not actually being in the skiing position. Have your daughter try on the boot again, and lean forward. This is going to pull her heel back along with her toes giving her more room up front. If they are still too tight and uncomfortable, then I would suggest sizing up. Going too big can cause discomfort, blisters, and not enough ankle support. Ski boots are very supportive and not roomy feeling."

"I have Nordica Cruise 45 women boots which I bought last week from Spot Mart and used it once. My lower leg was all bruised up after one use and next day couldn't even walk with them open. Why?"

"It sounds like your are in the wrong boot or were misfitted. We suggest going to your local ski shop to have them evaluate the boots and the fit."
