Are the outside pockets on the lower part of the jacket secure with zippered closures.

The side hand pockets are enclosed with zippers! This is a great feature that will help keep your valuables in place and not lost out in the snow.

This hood is not able to roll away while attached. You must completely detach the hood to hide it.

Is Nils Kate warmer than the Obermeyer Lara Ski Jacket? and which one is more femine style? I'm 5.6 feet hight and usually size on 2 or 4 (xs). what size fit on me?

Both jackets have pretty similar insulation. They also have similar fit. The main difference would be the styling. the Nils jacket is more of a classic simple jacket that has a high end look to it. The Obermeyer jacket has more of a sporty look to it with the striping throughout the jacket. They both have a fitted cut and would flatter a feminine figure. I would recommend using the sizing charts that are located next to the photo so that you can find your perfect fit. With the information given I would recommend the size 4.

"It was a one eyed, one horn, flying purple people eater...." :) The color of the ink blue is more of a purple color.
