Do these pants need liners worn underneath them or are they warm enough to wear on their own?

All ski pants are definitely designed to be worn with thermals. Make sure you get technical thermals, like UnderArmour or Hot Chillys, so that your whole system is breathable as well as warm.

Are these pants sleek and stretchy (no bulk that you get with regular ski pants) or is there still bulk? I bought a form fitting ski jacket and want to make sure that the pants don't have bulk. PS. Do they fit pretty true to size?

This is a form fitting stretch pant. There is no bulk. They do fit pretty true to size however you should always refer to their sizing chart located to the right of the product picture to ensure a perfect fit.

I just tried these pants on in a store today, I normally wear size 8-10, I had to go to a size 14 to get them to fit my hips, is this normal?

Nils made a very slim fitting, tailored pant here with the Jan Stretch pant, so sizing up to a 14 is not unusual.
