"Yes, this jacket generally does. It is always best to check the sizing chart just to be sure."

"I just bought a beautiful down Nils Jacket - there is a plastic drawstring piece attached to the coat. What is the purpose for this attachment????"

"Each jacket has it's own specific features. Which Nils jacket did you purchase and where is the cord attached to?"
Answer by Sarah (Peter Glenn Staff) on 3/7/2013 - 12:11 pm
"When they say 'fitted,' does that mean it hugs a feminine shape, so there's a waist? I find that too many jackets are 'boxy' looking."

"Right, a fitted jacket is going to be constructed in a way that fits closer to the body and therefore accentuates the curves of the body more than a relaxed jacket such as this one by Nils. You can check out the jackets by M.Miller and also by Meco if you want to see more feminine cut jackets. The Josie by Nils is also cut nicely, with a true waist so you can check that out as well. "

"I've been trying to replace my old ski jacket, and haven't been able to find a new one that works. I need a jacket that: 1) doesn't clash with my red plaid ski pants (white or dark blue jacket) 2) doesn't go below my hips, so I can ski--I telemark and most jackets get in the way or the jacket's zipper rips out at the bottom from being yanked with each turn 3) has enough pockets so I don't need to take a wallet or purse to the mountain Can you recommend a couple jackets for me to try? FYI: Patagonia doesn't fit me (too tight in the chest) and Bogner jacket zipper ripped out at the hem due to teleturns Thanks!"

"This Nils is a decent option with it's stretch lining, I'm just not sure if the 27" length will work for you. Other than this Nils, you can check out the Spyder Breaker, or the Kjus Desire, both of which have stretch fabric and hit at a good area in the waist that shouldn't interfere too much. The Mountain Force Rider is another option. We have provided size charts for all of these brands so that you can check them out and see which size would be best for you in each brand. "

"When you say Relaxed fit, does it mean this jacket is straight down boxy from pit to hem or does it has a little curve (waist line)? "

Question by Bella on 12/1/2013 - 4:16 pm
"This jacket does cinch in a little bit in the waist area. It is a relaxed fit meaning that it is not slim fitted so there is plenty of room to layer and stay comfortable on the mountain!"
