"Is this jacket warm enough for the slopes in the Alps? "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Kathy on 12/12/2013 - 11:28 am
"It would depend on the time of year that you are going and what the temps are projected to be during that time. We have only given this jacket a 5/10 on warmth rating as it only has 40g of insulation in it. For true winter temps during the coldest months, you would need a jacket with a higher warmth rating and with at least 100g of Thinsulate insulation. "

Question by Vova on 1/7/2014 - 9:12 pm
"We've given this a rating of 5/10 for warmth. So it will provide you with some warmth, but is only a moderately warm option. "
Answer by Martha (Peter Glenn Staff) on 1/8/2014 - 4:03 pm
"M. Miller uses a dual insulation system in softshell garments like the Alize. The exterior fabric is bonded to a micro fleece backing. This Micro-fleece backing has an insular capacity on its own helping to keep you warm. To that is added a 40gm layer of Thinsulate brand insulation. Together, the micro fleece and Thinsulate provide significant warmth."

"If you are a XS in the Halley you would be an XS in the Alize as well. "
Answer by Katie (Peter Glenn Staff) on 3/7/2014 - 10:14 am
"Katie many thanks for your reply. A little confused as on a previous question you have advised a customer to go up a size I have just noticed? Does that mean that this jacket runs small? Sorry but I need to get it right as shipping is to the UK !! Thanks for your help . "

Question by juliewendy on 3/7/2014 - 12:35 pm
"I would advice to size up as this line of clothes is a slim fit. If you have a jacket with this line that fits you nicely in a size XS. Then I would advice you to get an XS in this one as well. It never hurts to size up either as it is a slim fit. "

Ski Jacket   Rated: 5/5

Love this jacket. I wear it everyday, not just for skiing. For spring skiing, you have to wear a base and mid layer to keep warm. I like to wear layers so not a problem for me. I get so many compliments on this coat from both men and women. This coat is too pretty for just the slopes, therefore, I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Ski Jacket   Rated: 4/5

I love this ski jacket, the fur and tailoring is beautiful as well as the crystals and it looks much nicer in person. For moderate temperatures however.
