My son needs a mid weight off trail backpacking boot ,and will b carrying a heavy pack
Full grain upper and vibram sole or I jection molded rubber sole with ranked welt to bond upper leather to sole
Extended backpacking"......what do u suggest

This is going to be a great boot for him. This boot has a GORE-TEX membrane which will keep you 100% dry and allow a lot of breathability. This has a Vibram sole which is extremely durable and has amazing traction in any condition. The midsole is created to help in support while backpacking.
