A:
"This shell from Marker has a relaxed fit to it. Great for wearing alone during spring skiing or with some warm layers during the Winter time!"

Q:
"I am 6'1" and 190 pounds with a 42 inch chest and 33 inch waist. If I was to use this jacket with layers would you recommend large or XL?"

Question by Geoff on 9/9/2012 - 7:18 pm
A:
"Based off of your measurements I would go with the size Large. Marker is generous with their sizing, these jackets are not totally fitted like other brands, so you should be fine with a size large, even with layering."
Answer by Martha (Peter Glenn Staff) on 9/11/2012 - 4:08 pm
Q:
"I am considering this or the Katahdin. I live and ski on Vancouver Island, Pacific Northwest and need a hood that is helmut compatible. "

Q:
"Is there a double zipper in the front? I have a 41 inch chest should I get medium or large? "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by keith on 11/8/2012 - 11:38 am
A:
"This jacket does not have a two-way zipper. I would recommend the large, the medium would be too tight around your chest area. "
Answer by Sarah (Peter Glenn Staff) on 11/9/2012 - 4:28 pm
Q:
"I am trying to compare this jacket to the Katahdin and have some questions, this jacket is rated higher in waterproofing and moisture removal but does not have pit zips. Is the better breathing fabric enough to offset not having ventilation? "
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Curt on 1/1/2013 - 8:46 pm
A:
"The Marker Empire Shell Ski Jacket does have pit zips like the Obermeyer Katahdin Shell Ski Jacket. Yes, the fabrics used, can make a big difference, of how breathable a jacket can be. "

Runs small. Rated: 3/5

Ordered red XXL. Beautiful jacket, well made good features but was small on me. I have other Marker jackets in XXL and they fit perfectly, this one was very tight once zipped. If it fit I would have rated it 5 out of 5. Had to return for a refund. Great service at Peter Glenn
