The waterproofing is in the material. This jacket has 20K waterproofing and is fully seam sealed. You will definitely stay dry in this jacket!

The zipper is on the right side of the body. It has a pocket space that goes through the entire lower back side of the jacket. It is about 10" in height.

The fabric is slightly thicker because it has a tighter weave which is 10k waterproof.

Does this coat have handgaiters, and if so, do they have thumbholes? Also, are there many internal pockets? Specifically I am looking for goggles and media pockets.

This jacket does have stretch inner cuffs with thumb holes. On the inside it has 2 mesh pockets on the left side and 1 big mesh pocket on the right side perfect for your googles. Mesh pockets do not have zippers.

Great quality. Great price.

There's a great fit to the jacket. I like the insulation and feel it will give good warmth without too much bulk. Color is outstanding. Love all the storage pockets.

Good all-purpose choice

Only worn it once, on a sunny/mild day (temp said 27 but the sun warmed everyone up and by early afternoon it was probably 37), and so far great. Warm enough that I removed one of my layers and just skied with a long-sleeve thermal layer underneath. Wish it had an o-ring for passes and clip-on gear, otherwise good storage and pockets. And the color is a little dull/flat. But, I like the fit -- it's not bulky at all -- and it's doing the trick.
