Q:
"What would you say is the warmth of this coat compared to others? is it more of a fashion coat?"
Question by Marissa on 12/22/2010 - 4:05 pm
A:
"You are correct...this is a great jacket and will keep you warm, but it is a fashion jacket and not a technical all-weather jacket. It is a pretty piece that is water-resistant, but not waterproof. If you need to go out at night or run around after skiing, this is a great piece, but it is not meant to be worn for extended periods of time in harsh conditions."

"I bought a M Miller jacket because I wanted a pretty jacket and already owened a supposedly high tech warm jacket. The M Miller jacket is amazing. It is very warm....warmer than my high tech suppose to be super warm :-) I can't brag enough about this pretty warm jacket...and I am an avid skier not a snow bunny."

A:
"The Alene is made from the Schoeller WB 400 Series. Bonded, Breathable 4-way stretch...this jacket is highly weather repellant. The colder the weather the more you might want to layer up...starting with any of the M. Miller base layer tops adding a mid-layer or even cashmere.
While the Alene jacket is not an extreme weather garment it is definitely slope functional and streetwear elegant."

Q:
"I would like to know if this jacket fits true to size and if it fits below the bottom like a blazer or if it is at the hips."
Question by Leslie G on 12/18/2010 - 11:10 pm
A:
"M. Miller Jackets tend to fit quite slim so you may want to consider sizing up. Also, this jacket should hit a little below your waistline. The belt should cinch at your true waist so you can get an idea of the length based on that. "

Q:
"Is this jacket very warm and does it have the technical details of a hardcore ski jacket? Will the jacket fit over my helmet?"
Question by erin on 10/6/2011 - 5:08 pm
A:
"This M. Miller jacket is very stylish however there is no insulation, so you would need to layer up for warmth. There is no hood on the jacket. "
Answer by Sarah (Peter Glenn Staff) on 10/7/2011 - 9:38 am
A:
"The Alene has insular capacity due to highly weather repellant face fabric which is bonded to a micro fleece.
The fabric is breathable and a 4-way stretch. Layering this fabric will increase the warmth.

Love it!!! I bought it in red and couldn't be happier. The color looks great with a tan really stands out on the slopes of Vail. I was complimmented by so many complete strangers and compared to a "Bond girl" and a Russian princess. It fits like a glove and the belt really accentuates your waist in a slimming way. The fur is also very substantial and adds a lot to the silhouette.
