These mittens look warmer than they really are. The top side of the mittens are fully insulated, but the palm side is really thin. I went skiing last weekend and I noticed the cold holding my poles. The mittens are still snow proof, so they will be fine for general winter weather. The mittens run slightly small so order the L/XL unless you have really small hands.
