K2 AMP Rictor 82X Ti Ski System with Bindings (Men's) -
OUT OF STOCK

Product Details

Profile Waist Width

Rocker/Camber Hybrid: Uses rocker in certain zones of the ski, typically the tip, tail, or both. Great, versatile choice, offering good grip on hardpack, some float in soft snow, and easy turn initiation and transitions.

80-89: Versatile; good blend of carve and float

Style: S1306011

The K2 AMP Rictor 82X Ti is a strong and stable carver with a more powerful feel. If you like to ski fast, or really like the way a stiff carving ski feels when you get it up on edge, the K2 AMP 82X is the ski for you. The metal laminate will add stability and dampness because it provides more torsional stiffness. K2 gave this ski All Terrain Rocker to make it easy to turn the ski despite the stiffness. The result is an extremely powerful feel, that's still very agile. An 82mm waist is great for the frontside, with a little extra width in case you encounter softer snow.

Q:
"I'm 54, 5'8 and 210 pounds. I'm comfortable on blue and most black runs. I live out in Oregon so we get mixed snow conditions (lots of crud and concrete). I'm looking at the rictor 82 xti and am curious what length you recommend. I'm thinking the 170's but not sure."

A:
"I'd recommend the 177's for you. You'd get more out of them if you're skiing blues and blacks. "

Q:
"Question about Ski Length & Binding System: I'm 6'3, 190 lbs, 55 yrs old, strong intermediate (blues/double blues), but now ski mostly groomers and front side with occasional crud. I had a hip resurfaced and have had several knee surgeries, so I'm not as active as before. Of the 2014 Rictors would you recommend 177's or 184's. Also, I'd like to buy just the boards and mount my own bindings, but I'm told the "system" bindings work better. Is that true? Thanks for your help. "

Question by T-RideSkier on 10/31/2013 - 2:48 pm
A:
"System bindings don't necessarily work better, they are just sold as a package set with the ski and so obviously they are a great match for the ski. For you, I would recommend the 177's. "

Q:
"6'0" 174 lbs, 44 yrs old, and advanced intermediate (lots of blues, minimal bumps, off piste when there is pow, but following my son down the steeps occassionally) but mostly NW snow - heavier/wet, lots of night skiing. 170 or 177 length recommended?"

"If you generally stick to the groomers then you should go with 170, but if you are the type to ski all mountain then you should go with the 177."

Q:
"I'm 6'2" 275lb and ski mostly blues. I'm planning to do a lot more skiing over the coming years and want a ski that will be good for me now, but will also allow me to grow into the ski as my ability increases. Do you think this is the right ski? if not, what else might you recommend and at what length?"

Question by Big Guy on 1/29/2014 - 10:16 am
A:
"In terms of length, you'll need to go with a 184 or larger. This is an advanced level ski so it will definitely still be a great ski for you as your skills improve. You can also check out the Nordica Firearrow 84 Pro Ski System. "

Q:
"I'm 5'5", 165lbs, 57 years old. I am a high level intermediate/low level advanced skier. Will ski anything that is groomed, am learning bumps and would like to ski in the trees. I have skied the K2 Rictor82XTi and would like to know what size you recommend."

Question by Menlo on 3/10/2014 - 4:44 pm
A:
"This ski is more of an all-mountain ski, not a groomer specific ski. For what you're looking for I'd say a 161 would be ideal. If you really want an all-mountain ski then the 170 would be your size. "
Answer by Sarah (Peter Glenn Staff) on 3/11/2014 - 3:26 pm
Q:
"I'm a 5'6" 180lb (will probably trim down to 170lb pretty soon) 67year mid level intermediate (skiing for 3 years) 99.9% groomer skier wanting this as a step-up from a beginner ski. I mostly am looking for the a ski that will handle the Pacific Northwest concrete or crud. I'm leaning toward a 163 length and thinking the 170 might be too much ski for me. I don't ski fast but am improving my abilities and starting to speed up but tend to be pretty conservative. I want a ski that will handle both the crud and the ice well. The 163 comes up to top of my forehead."

Question by KR on 3/20/2014 - 4:15 pm
A:
"Yes, the 170 will be too much ski for your needs. You need to look for something in the 160 range (158-163)."

Q:
""I'm 5'5", an athletic 167lbs & 47 years old. I would categorize myself as and advanced intermediate skier that can handle any conditions; groomed, icy, lumpy snow, powder etc. I like to ski fast with tight turns as well as have a bit of fun by skiing off the edge or cutting corners of groomed trails and dropping back in again from small drops. I have skied the K2 Rictor82XTi and would like to know what size you recommend?""

Q:
"I am 5'6 150 lbs, 46 year old. I need to replace a 12 years olds 168cm Rossignol ski. I am advance skier that like speed and occasionally open glades, not crazy about bumps maybe because my ski are too long? I ski between 12-18 days per years all over east-end of USA and Canada. I was wondering if I should look at 163 or 170?"

Q:
"I'm 52 years old, 6'0", 215 lbs. I'm a strong intermediate skier, comfortable on all blues, and I'll take on a black now and then. I tried the AMP Rictor 90 XTi at 177 length and did well with it, but would prefer the somewhat smaller turn radius of the 82. Would 177 still be a good length for me?"
