My daughter is med/lg is this xl going to be really big? Or do you think she could get away with it..she is 135llbs.

An XL is going to be way too big on her. Depending on what her height is, she needs to stick with either a medium or a large.

No, the zipper is a 1/4 zip which goes to the middle of the chest area.
