Q:
"Volkl Mantra versus Head i.Peak 84? Aggressive Skier that prefers lots of quick turns on moguls, powder, and backcountry and trees. Also, happen to be from Minnesota, so can't ignore the hard-pack reality, when I am not out West. Thanks in advance for suggestions."

A:
"These are a great choice! The early rise rocker and low turning radius will be perfect for those tight turns and the width is great for backcountry skiing while the intelligent fibers will be very useful for the hard packed snow. "

Q:
"I am a race coach and am looking at the I peak 84 for a fun ski for all around use on non coaching days. I am 6' 3" and 205 and am used to race skis: can I get by with a 177 in the I peak 84 or would I need the 184. I plan to use the the ski to ski more bumps and crud. Can you get a higher din binding for the ski as I set my din to 12 and I do not want to be at the end of the spring. "

A:
"You can get a higher din binding and put it on this ski, however that would be a separate purchase. This ski/binding combo listed here is sold as a permanent set. For size, you're OK sticking with the 177 as this ski is not like the newer rocker skis where you need to go up a size. Feel free to call one of the ski techs directly in any of our store locations for more information!"

Efficient on hard pack, rail to rail   Rated: 5/5

Best all mountain ski for efficient energy conservation in hard pack and rail-to-rail turns. Great ease of rotation and buoyancy coming back out of turn in powder...never loose your tip! An easy ski to use with least wasted energy. Really saved my legs. No doubt, the best performance I have gotten from an all-mountain ski. I'm a life-long skier: racing, cruising, powder, on/off terrain.
