The exterior of the Portland Jacket is a waterproof shell, and there's a removable inner jacket complete with insulation and an Omni-Heat™ thermal-reflective lining. You can wear just the insulator in the fall, just the waterproof shell in the spring, and both together in winter. With the Columbia Portland Explorer, 1 purchase covers the whole year.

"The video review says the coat is very warm, but is only rated a 5/10 for warmth. Which is more accurate?"

"This jacket is considered to be a warm jacket and it can be made even warmer depending on which layers you are wearing with it. We do offer others jackets with more insulation so that is why we rate it a 5/10. "
