Q:
"How do the warmth and length of this jacket compare to the CG Trillium?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by M on 7/9/2014 - 7:02 pm
A:
"Both the Shelburne and the Trillium Parka have the same amount of down insulation (625-fill white duck down insulation) so in terms of warmth they are they same. The centerback length on Trillium is 36" whereas this Shelburne is 35.5"."
Answer by Martha (Peter Glenn Staff) on 7/10/2014 - 8:48 am
Q:
"Which parka is warmer - Shelburne or Majella?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Polina on 9/17/2014 - 4:42 am
A:
"The Majella is going to be just a bit warmer due to the higher quality down being used. However both jackets will be rated 10/10 for warmth since they both use down insulation. "
Answer by Kacy (Peter Glenn Staff) on 9/17/2014 - 10:13 am
Q:
"What size do you recommend for someone that is 5"4, 34D and 140 pounds?"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Michelle on 11/18/2014 - 8:45 pm
A:
"We would need your measurements in order to determine exactly what size you would be, however based on what you have told us, you may be a size Medium!"
Answer by Danielle (Peter Glenn Staff) on 11/19/2014 - 12:49 pm
Q:
"How do you compare the Shelburne versus the Expedition for warmth and versatility? For a 24 year old woman in Chicago. Would also consider the Trillium"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by John on 1/3/2015 - 4:42 pm
A:
"All options have down insulation, which means they are the warmest options that you will find. We've given all of them a warmth rating of 10/10. So it will come down to which one you feel you would get more use out of. Both Trillium and Expedition have a similar look while Shelburne appears more of a fashion piece (though it is just as functional as the other two)."
Answer by Martha (Peter Glenn Staff) on 1/4/2015 - 3:34 pm
Q:
"What is the length of the coat?"
1 Answers | Answer Question

Q:
"Why is the Sherbourne rated 3 for warmth, whereas the Trillium is rated 4?"
1 Answers | Answer Question

1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by TaraB on 1/8/2016 - 4:26 pm
A:
"Based on the measurements you have provided it looks like you would into a size XS in this jacket. If you want more room for layering underneath we would recommend sizing up to the Small as the XS will fit close to the body."
Answer by Kacy (Peter Glenn Staff) on 1/11/2016 - 1:14 pm
Q:
"I want to order a Canada Goose jacket for my daughter who is going to College in cold area. I am having trouble figuring out the major difference between the kensington, Trillium and Shelburne. Can you give me some key differences. I have already watched the video"
1 Answers | Answer Question
Question by Lori on 5/13/2016 - 8:45 am
A:
"Each of these coats are very similar, and are great for cold weather as they have 625-fill down insulation and a 10 out of 10 warmth rating. The main difference between these three Parkas is that the Shelburne and the Kensington are going to be slim fit, whereas the Trillium is going to be more of a relaxed fit. Another minor difference is that the Shelburne and Kesington have snap cuffs, while the Trillium does not!"

I love this stlye. I hope to see it in a TEI rating of 4 some day because at its current 3 rating it is just not warm enough for me. Granted, I do have a low tolerance for cold and suspect this may have worked for me if I had more natural insulation on my body but I suggest it is the sleeves that are the achielles heel on this gorgeous parka. Its of beautiful quality materials but just does not perform at the level indicated by the rating. My arms (and thereby all of me) got cold at 32 degrees when I tested it. On that day just a few days ago it was a mildly windy and moderately damp air so it was maybe a few degrees cooler. My arms were instantly chilled...very uncomfortable. The length of the parka seemed to perform fine but I haven't tried it at the lower temps of the rating scale. This parka is rated for 15degreesF to -5degreesF but it simply did not perform because of the sleeves. I am so very sad that this beauty has to go back. Simply cannot recommend considering its price tag. I'll be trying the less fashionable Trillium for its 4 rating and will review that one as well.

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I purchased this Parker a few Month ago and love wearing it but have great difficulty getting the Zipper closet. It takes at least three Attempts and a lot of Patience to get it zipped up. Very warm.

Not living up to its TEI 3 rating.

By

from New York

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I received this coat 2 days ago and wore it one time in mid 20F degree NYC weather. I felt chilly. I wore uniqlo heat tech underneath along with a thick cashemere sweater. While I like the design and style of this coat, I am not thrilled with the down fill. I believe that my coat was not properly filled which allows for cold spots around the neck and back. When I felt the coat in those areas, there was barely any down. If I am cold in 25 degree weather, this will definitely not keep me warm through it's TEI rated -5F degree weather. I am in the process of working with the authorized retailer that I bought it from to either return or get this filled up properly as I do love the oversized fur part that came with this coat. I will return for an updated review once this is all sorted out. I have also read from other reviewers that these coats are not as well filled as they used to be and people have sent back coats to be refilled with down.

Stylish but not warm

By

from Boston, MA, United States

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I bought this parka in October 2015, as I wanted something that would keep me really warn in the cold, snowy winters so common in Boston, MA. The jacket looks great and fits really well, but unfortunately it does feel as warm as I expected from a TEI 3. It has not been really cold in Boston this year yet (the coldest has so far been around 18F (-8C) and this jacket just does not keep me warm, even though it is supposed to work between -20C and -10C. I would recommend this item for temperatures > 45F <55F: below 45 F it is just not warm enough. TEI 1 would be the appropriate rating for this jacket.

I think this is the best investment I've made for staying warm during Vermont's long cold winters. The mid length is perfect for keeping the wind off my back and the hood is just fabulous for those windy days!!

What an investment!

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I finally upgraded my 12 year old Northface. I was going to get another one but decided to see what all the fuss was with the Canada Goose jackets! After a lot of research I settled on the Shelburne! I couldn't be happier and truly didn't know what a warm coat was until I was sweating with this parka! My arms did get cold with a thin shirt on underneath but I wouldn't expect to not wear a sweater under my coat. The coyote fur is beautiful and functional- it really does break up the wind and keep my face warm, I'm glad it's actually for function and not just fashion. I was out in -7 degree weather yesterday and I didn't notice it was cold- other than where the bottom of my coat ends and my Uggs begin. I know I will have this coat for another decade plus! For ref- I'm 5'7/129 pounds with broad shoulders- I ordered a medium- the small www too snug to wear anything other than a shirt underneath.

So warm!

By

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I love this coat, super warm, the adjustable hood keeps the wind away, the fleece lined pockets are a great touch. However the jacket does run a little big, but this allows you to wear a thicker vest or sweatshirt on underneath, but even if you're not wearing either of these I have not noticed being cold while wearing just a long sleeve t-shirt underneath the jacket. Overall this jacket is a great product, well worth the money.

I purchased this coat in Oct 2015 and have worn it several times. The coat is very warm. I would like it if the coat had larger security pockets and cell phone pockets on the interior. The hood could also be lined as well. I highly recommend this coat.

I'm cold in 32F with thermals and a sweater under

By

from New York, NY, United States

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

I bought this in November 2015, just before the cold really started to kick in in NYC winter, thinking I was buying a jacket that would keep me super warm, but instead I feel the cold every day in my coat. Even at 32 degrees fahrenheit, and even with thermals and a sweater on. Nothing like the experience of others wearing just a t-shirt. I also feel the NYC wind rush through every time there is a gust. This is so different from the experiences of my friends with other Canada Goose Jackets, or when I borrow their jackets. Maybe the seams on mine aren't right but because I purchased in November to avoid missing out, I cannot return it. Wish I had gone for a different style that I knew was reliable

Great Investment

By

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Canada Goose Shelburne Down Parka Women's, Black, XXS:

This is my first Canada Goose jacket and it has exceeded all my expectations. It is a high quality jacket with many well thought out features, including fleece lined pockets (also with snap closure which is a nice feature to allow adjustable access), great range of motion for the arms that do not restrict the range of motion when you are driving, and form conscious design. It is incredibly warm and I find I can get by with a light sweater even on extremely cold days thanks to this parka. Although it is expensive, it is well worth the investment.

The warmest most beautiful coat I've had. It's not bulky, very fashionable. It works nicely for ski trips in the mountains and walking on cold days in the city. Warm hood with lovely, soft fur. The fit is perfect. It runs big. I ordered a size down.
