Is this a warm coat that would be good for snowboarding or is it more like a light jacket?

This is more like a hoodie. It is not warm enough to wear by itself in cold weather, but definitely is good for layering.

No, this is mostly as a mid-layer when being worn snowboarding or a street hoodie.
