Answer Question
Do these boots need to have extra waterproofing added before wearing. For many hiking boots it is recommended to put on extra coats of waterproofing before wearing out. With Goretex is it not needed? Or even a bad idea?

Gore-Tex is waterproof enough, actually it has one of the highest waterproof ratings in the market. I wouldn't recommend to add any waterproof coating on it because it might affect the breathability capacity of it. If the shoes don't breathe it wont allow the perspiration to wick out from your feet, which makes them wet as well. You can pair these with moisture-wicking socks for maximum comfort.
