How close should a child's snowboard pant size match their normal waist size? My son is almost 12 y/o, in the middle of a growth spurt, and currently wearing size 12 shorts. I'm debating whether to buy a M or a L pair of snowboard pants for next year. I think L may be the best choice. I know the best thing to do would be to have him try them on. In lieu of that, do you have any suggestions? Mark

I would definitely recommend the large. Kids grow so fast and with the larger size you'll be able to use them for more than one season!

Do the 686 Ridge Insulated Snowboard pants have zippers at the bottom of the legs?

No, these pants do not have the zipper at the bottom of the pants. They do however have a boot gaiter with a hook to keep the pants in place!
