Skis and Snowboards: Rocker 101

Contrary to the traditional camber design that features a slight arching upward curve in the middle, Rocker is the shape of either a ski or snowboard that resembles an upside-down arch. This means that the contact points of the ski or board have been lifted up off the snow.
Whether skiing or snowboarding, rocker offers improved float in powder, enhanced maneuverability, and catch-free cruising thanks to raised tips and/or tails and a decreased effective edge. For all you park riders out there, rocker lets you lock onto rails and slide without getting hung up on the edges.
Rocker comes in many forms, each company putting their own twist on it. It can be referred to as reverse camber, Early Rise, EZ Rocker, V Rocker, Skate Banana, R.C. Technology, Chilly Dog, and the list goes on. Rocker can be combined with camber to offer a more customized ride for skiers or snowboarders.
