As an Assistant Manager in one of our retail stores you'll help cultivate this experience. You'll be responsible for overseeing sales, helping to train new staff, maintaining customer service standards, assisting with store merchandising and inventory control, and keeping general operations running smoothly. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training new staff
  • Coach new and existing staff to increase sales
  • Build loyal customer relationships by ensuring employees provide the highest level of service
  • Assist with merchandising and product placement to ensure maximum impact
  • Help monitor and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Assist with general operations such as cash management, sales floor coverage, breaks, etc.
  • Attend product training sessions and relay appropriate information to sales staff
  • Assist Store Manager with monitoring low-stock and out-of-stock items
  • Help customers find products that best fit their needs
  • Stay informed on latest gear and trends

Skills and Requirements:
We are looking for someone who enjoys customer interaction and has prior supervisory experience. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to the ski/outdoor industry.

  • Able to direct staff, take responsibility, and troubleshoot problems
  • Self-motivated and driven to improve
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Interested in expanding personal knowledge about products and outdoor sports
  • Experienced with ski, snowboard and outdoor sports equipment and clothing and have the ability to communicate that knowledge
  • Strong communicators with strong inter-personal skills
  • Experienced in a supervisory capacity
  • People-oriented, taking pride in helping customers make choices or resolve problems
  • Supportive as members of a team
  • Fluent in English; the ability to speak a second language is a plus
  • Able to work weekends and evenings
  • Able to lift up to 25-50 lbs

Eductation:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • College degree in business, retail management, or related field a plus

Run Appeal is focused on Fit, Service, and Community. We carry all the top brands of clothing, shoes, and accessories.

The Running Specialist will offer advice and products to help people achieve their fitness goals. You'll also help us build a community of loyal fans by participating in local events and offering the best retail experience. In this way you'll help us to become the premier run specialty store.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in the store in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Help customers find products that best fit their needs
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly sales goals

  • Perform gait analysis and recommend products to resolve issues
  • Work at the Run Appeal tent at local events such as 5K Runs, Marathon Expos, Marathon Runs, and more
  • Participate in store runs up to 6 miles
  • Maintain visual appearance of store and assist in replenishing stock
  • Ring up sales and return transactions
  • Stay informed on latest gear, trends, and technology

Skills and Requirements:

  • Create weekly store runs that are on average up to 6 miles
  • People- oriented; friendly; a good listener

7-15-14 Web Content Assistant (Full-Time Position)

Peter Glenn has a full-time opening for a Content Assistant on our Ecommerce Team. We're looking for a talented person to assist in executing merchandising strategy on PeterGlenn.com. You'll be part of a growing team, and you'll be able to contribute your own ideas and suggestions and see them brought to fruition.

The Web Content Assistant is responsible for enhancing the customer experience on PeterGlenn.com. He/she will support the content team by preparing merchandise for photo and video, obtaining informational materials, and entering product spec data into our website. The Web Content Assistant will also review site content for consistency and accuracy, and make recommendations for new content and changes. The Web Content Assistant will work with the Merchandising Manager to organize products on our website and correct errors. This person is expected to become extremely familiar with our products, and will need to develop in-depth knowledge of all product categories. This position entails a good deal of data entry.

This is a full-time position, with regular office hours. If you are a student nearing graduation, we may be able to be flexible with hours. Please don't hesitate to apply.

  • Assist photography dept with photo shoots & gathering merchandise

  • Contact vendors to obtain catalogs and informational materials
  • Record scripts for voice-over product videos
  • Assist with maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties
  • Assist with merchandising products via cross promotion and categorization
  • Ensure applicable information is archived for future needs and reference
  • Various admin tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field, or two years related experience
  • Strong written and spoken communications skills, including rules of grammar
  • Great attention to detail and unyielding consistency
  • Smart, creative, driven, and able to deliver results quickly
