"Giving them an A+"
Love them. I've been wearing birks for 30 years at work. Work 12 hour shifts as RN pounding the concrete floors. Have had a recent back injury and the physical therpist told me that I needed a shoe with more cushion. Giving them an A+ rating thus far. These are very user friendly. Would have preferred all black, but the color is secondary!

"Great shoes for wet trekking"
I have been to the Galapagos 8 times, and these shoes are the best for wet landings and the short walks. They hug your feet for all kinds of terrain from lava rocks to sand, and can get wet and dry very quickly. The provide a sense of stability when rock-hopping as well.
I have tried the Soloman wet shoes, but they just do not dry fast enough and cause blisters when walking in them wet. These are definitely my preferred shoes for this type of trip.
Only bad news - I put my other pair in the washer in hot water, and they fell apart. Lesson learned!

"Poor build quality"
Awful build quality! The stitching in the straps came out after about a month's use, I actually had to use one of my tent straps as a field repair. The sole that's designed to drain water from your feet to the ground works well, but it also works the other way around. If your sandals just stepped in some mud, yeah, your feet are actually stepping in mud too. Also, they're almost impossible to get properly clean because of the sole's hollowness. You'll actually be walking around with a small chamber of disgusting smelly stuff under you feet.
