I own several pieces of Kjus attire, but this is the only item that has been a disappointment. The gloves are good looking and provides solid grip, but they're not warm enough for where I ski. At -10C your hands will be cold. If you primarily ski closer to 0 then the Stealth 2 gloves are a great option, but be aware of this limitation.
I absolutely love this jacket. It is warm, light, flexible, good looking, and works great with the formula pants. It's the best ski jacket I have ever worn. Highly recommended.
The only minor concern I have is that the lining appears to be leaking minor amounts of down from a very small hole. Peter Glenn staff is helping me to determine whether this is a manufacturing flaw or normal wear.
The kjus warp-speed is one of the best ski jackets I've ever owned. It has a great balance of warmth and size (not bulky). I wore the jacket on a four day ski trip to Stratton VT in sub-zero wind-chill conditions at the peak, and the jacket shielded me from the harsh elements. In fact, I was comfortable and the jacket maintained my normal body temperature thanks to the heat absorbing gel in the liner. The built-in hooded mask easily tucks away in a hidden compartment and is well-designed. There's mesh over the mouth that shields your face from the cold while allowing you to breathe without trapping moisture (which often freezes in poorly designed masks). I highly recommend this jacket and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the cheap plastic snap-on buttons used in the waistband. The snap-on buttons are flimsy considering the price of the jacket and one of them apparently broke upon use.
Well worth the money. Purchased to ski in. They are comfortable and stretchy. The lining is soft and feels like fleece. The waist is adjustable. Sized as advertised for a trim build (NOT baggy). Warm and breathable - no need for long-johns. The bottom fits nicely over the ski boot. They are well designed and refined looking. I couldn't be happier - other brands don't come anywhere close in comparison.
I ordered these online after researching them extensively. They are TOTALLY worth it! They are warm, fit true to size, and because they stretch they are REALLY comfortable. PLUS, they have an adjustable waist band.
This top is awesome! It is very soft on the inside, has a little stretch, and can be worn for skiing or as a casual top with jeans. I have had lots of comments on this shirt and would highly recommend it. Peterglenn';s website is fabulous and they are very prompt at shipping your product and notifying you. Excellent service!
Honestly, what you really want out of your ski gloves is comfort, warmth and flexibility. Bonuses would be that they match your outfit and that you like the look. NORWEGIAN Kjus has designed a great ski glove, with great friction to hold items, flexible and very comfortable. I have not had cold fingertips once while using these gloves, and while diving into 3feet of deep POW, I did not get any snow into the glove due to the tight but flexible velcro band. Great glove in every respect.
I was cold while riding lift, too warm skiing difficult terrain. Have to use multiple layers to keep warm as wind penetrates the jacket. Only way to vent was to unzip from top which allowed snow and cold air down neck/back. The neck warmer is too small. Jacket rides up and don't like attaching to pants, too much hassle for potty breaks. Hood not large enough to fit over helmet. Jacket was way too roomy in waist for me, yet tight in shoulders and I am slim. Most of all I miss pit zips! Beautiful workmanship, details, and nice fabrics, but not functional for skiing! Maybe ok for those wanting to look lovely in the lodge.
I have owned Mountain Hardware and Marmot soft shell jackets. After my 5 yr old Marmot Sharp Point jacket developed a broken pit zipper, I was planning on buying an Arcteryx, but purchased this jacket instead - my first Kjus. I use it on cold windy days here in northern California and am in love with how warm it is despite being so light. And it looks very stylish and slim fitting. I love the elbow and the cuffs as well. There is no soft shell better than this!
Love the trim, athletic fit and stretchy fabric. This jacket moves with you. The craftsmanship is superb and the special features are incredibly useful (especially the wallet pouch for money and credit cards). I skied this at Taos and it kept me warm with just a single base layer on 12F degree morning. 2 days later it was 50 degrees and I was still comfortable. Well done, Kjus!
