Mike West's urban skater background meets technical mountain experience. 15 years of it. In the beginning, Mike was living the dream in Big Bear: working at a local mountain, listening to music, and adding to his sneaker collection. He took snowboard clothes and accesories outside the norm to create innovative, functional outerwear on the edge of LA fashion. 686 is all about tough, waterproof fabrics with tons of extras: tool belts, pockets, liners, and more.

Awesome pants! Great pockets, warm, and good-looking. I wish I bought an extra pair. The only negative aspect of these pants is that they get dirty and show stains very easily. Overall they are the best snow pants I ever bought, and I have had all of the best brands: Northface, Karbon, Spyder, Marmot; none of them come close in my opinion.

These pants are above and beyond any other snow pant out there right now! They run a little big but that is ok by me. All the bells and whistles. Buy a pair every year and they just get better and better; you will not be disappointed with this purchase!

These are great. You will stay warm and dry like no other! The vents work great to cool you down if that's what you need. You will not be sorry if you buy these.

I was a bit skeptical when I first came upon this jacket. It wasn't as bulky as other designs that I had seen, thinking it could not be as warm its counterparts. However, I took a risk on the basis that 686 has a great reputation for making quality products. I was not disappointed.
It is comfortable and fits to my frame perfectly, its ability to insulate and keep me warm constantly is the jacket's biggest attribute. I took it to the snow where temperatures dropped below zero and I was cozy. Even when big wind gusts struck I was surprised how well the jacket was able to deflect them. It kept me dry all day, even when I had to lie in melted snow to put on tire chains. The mini mirror is also useful when needed. I have to add that the powder skirt is NOT removable, but it's a moot point when you're trying to keep warm.
So if you want to look good, keep warm, and feel comfortable, this is the jacket to get.

This is a great jacket. It fits well and performed great the first time out hiking through ledges and caverns.

The inner lining is very soft and feels wonderful, but a bit bulky. The outer shell is less bulky than previous pairs owned. Definitely an improvement for looking better on the slopes!

if you're tall the sleeves are too short. I actually would have kept it though. It comes with goggles and has nice pockets.

I bought them for the simple fact that jeans with long underwear didn't cut it up here in MN. They are wind proof and light wieght. There are only two pocketsthe rear ones are fakeon the pants and when you are sitting everything falls out if they aren't zipped shut and the skirt has one little one. They are super cute and I can sit down on the snow with my kids without getting my ass wet. I wish the pant legs opened up the sides. The skirt is a pain if you have to go to the bathroom, it has to come off to get your pants down.

Went boarding and snowmobiling in this jacket at Park City and never had a complaint. Almost buried in snow once and not a drop got inside.
